FOR
Personnel who are required to perform the functions of a lifting supervisor.
OBJECTIVE
At the end of the course, participants should be able to:

• Know the roles and responsibilities of lifting supervisors
• Understand the legal requirements of lifting supervisors
• Be able to take measures to ensure that lifting operations are carried out safely.
COVERAGE

  • The Workplace Safety and Health Act.
  •  Duties of lifting supervisors
  •  Safe use of mobile cranes
  •  Safe use of tower cranes/MOM’s requirements on tower cranes
  •  Safe use of other lifting machines
  •  Co-ordination in the use of lifting machines
  •  Rigging equipment, rigging of loads and signaling
  •  Investigations into crane accidents and case studies
END OF COURSE
Upon passing a theory test, participants will receive a Certificate of Successful Completion.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT
1 Must have successfully completed the Signalman and Rigger Courses.
2 Workplace literacy and numeracy Level 4 and above under Employability Skills System (ESS) or equivalent.  
FUNDING
The Lifting Supervisor Safety Course is approved for funding under the Skills Redevelopment Programme (SRP) and registered on Skillsconnect. Applicants are advised to apply for this course via Skillsconnect (www.skillsconnect.gov.sg)

Employers who send their staff for the course under the SRP programme can receive funding as well as absentee payroll support from WDA. More details can be found in the Skillsconnect.
